WHY IS YOUR CAR OVERHEATING?

A vehicle’s engine is one of its most important components. If the engine fails for any reason, it won’t be possible to drive to work, school or anywhere else. Therefore, it is important to understand why your engine may overheat and how to determine if this is happening.
If your engine is overheating, the temperature gauge on the dashboard will start to move. Ideally, the needle will be between the hot and cold labels on the gauge. If it gets closer to hot, pull over as soon as possible. In some cases, you will start to see smoke coming out of the engine.
Ideally, you will take the ailing car to Thompson Cadillac for immediate service. Pouring water into the radiator may be a temporary way to cool the engine, but its typically easier to call a tow truck instead of putting your safety at risk.
