OVERSTEERING VS UNDERSTEERING
At Thompson Buick GMC, we want to you understand as much about your vehicle and its technology so you can be happy with your ride and be as safe as possible. Understeering and oversteering are two phenomena that can happen to many vehicles. Although it can seem scary if you’re unfamiliar with what’s happening, it’s more common than one might think.
Understeering, which is more common with front-wheel drive cars, is when the wheel or car turns less than what you might want. Oversteering, which is more common with rear-wheel drive vehicles, is when it turns more than you’d want. Both are particularly noticeable on sharp corners and can be dangerous at high speeds.
If you have concerns about your vehicle understeering or oversteering, call us or stop at our dealership. We can service your vehicle or offer some suggestions. While you’re waiting, we invite you to take a vehicle out for a test drive.
